When the last of the Bob Seger tickets were sold and he played his final show on March 17th, 2007 at the famous Detroit venue Cobo Arena, we all thought that Bob and the Silver Bullet Band had played their last hoorah. The shows were even taped for a possible DVD. Since then Bob went back to his family life in Metro Detroit and the members of the Silver Bullet Band went their separate ways. The proposed DVD of the concerts never surfaced and we all were basking in our fond memories of the past concert tours.

Fast forward to March 26th, 2010 and Dick Purtan's final show.  Bob Seger calls in and says they are looking at some dates in October and November. Obviously, the Seger faithful were totally surprised and thrilled that Mr. Seger was thinking of touring again. You can listen to the entire radio interview here.

In early February, 2011, Bob Seger finally announced he would be performing his hits in concert. The Bob Seger tour dates are listed above. The latest concert tour will begin without a new record, at least initially. He is reportedly 50% finished on the new music. His latest release called "Seger Early Years Vol. 1" was initially sold exclusively at Michigan retailer Meijers and at bobseger.com. It has since gone to a national distribution. The CD contains 4 new songs and older material that has been remixed and remastered. The track listings are below.

Midnight Rider
If I Were A Carpenter
Get Out Of Denver
Someday
U.M.C. (Upper Middle Class)
Long Song Comin'
Star Tonight (Previously Unreleased
Gets Ya Pumpin' (Previously Unreleased)
Wildfire (Previously Unreleased)
Days When The Rain Would Come (Previously Unreleased)

With other Seger tours, the tour stops are cities with indoor venues like the Palace of Auburn Hills and Van Andel Arena. On his "Face the Promise" tour, tickets were sold through Ticketmaster and the prices averaged around $60. All things considered, the prices of Seger tickets will be reasonable for all fans considering the depressed economy.

Bob Seger has released 21 albums since his first single "East Side Story" was released in 1966. He has sold more than 50 million records and continues to sell records indicated by his latest release "Seger Early Years Vol. 1". His last tour featured the Silver Bullet Band members Alto Reed (Sax), Craig Frost (Keyboards), Chris Campbell (Bass Guitar), Mark Chatfield (Lead Guitar), Jim "Moose" Brown (Guitar, Keyboards), Don Brewer (Drums), Laura Creamer (Backing Vocals), Shaun Murhpy (Backing Vocals), Barbara Payton (Backing Vocals).

One of Bob Seger's hits played on his last tour was "Real Mean Bottle" joined onstage by Kid Rock.

Bob Seger has sold over 50 million records. He is approaching the later stages of his Hall of Fame career.  His concert dates and ticket sales could easily rival the rock band "The Eagles" and the Eagle tickets which were purchased during their recent tour. Without question, the Bob Seger concert dates could be his last tour. You should consider purchasing Bob Seger Tickets and seeing the iconic rocker perform live before its too late.
