Pearl Jam
was propelled to stardom in 1990 leading the Grunge movement that
became popular especially on the West Coast. The record that
pushed Pearl Jam into the mainstream was "Ten". The group was
formed in Seattle, WA by current members Jeff Ament and Stone
Gossard. The current lineup features Eddie Vedder
(vocals), Mike
McCready (lead guitar), Stone Gossard (rhythm guitar), Jeff Ament
(bass guitar), and drummer Matt Cameron. Cameron replaced
original drummer Jack Irons in 1998. Matt Cameron had been the
drummer for another popular Seattle band Soundgarden.
The "Ten"
album went on to sell more than 13 million units and placed the
group in a position it wasn't exactly prepared to handle. The group
won MTV Video of the Year with Jeremy but did not subscribe to the
trend of making music videos. Later, when the band became a
top concert draw, they battled Ticketmaster over service fee
charges. The band's goal was to keep Pearl jam tickets
affordable to the common man. In 1994, they canceled the
entire tour to protest Ticketmaster. The boycott continued
into 1995 and disappointed many concert fans of Pearl Jam.
Eventually, the issue with Ticketmaster faded into the backdrop

tours began in earnest. The band evolved into a world wide
concert tour draw and the Pearl Jam tickets were in high
demand after releasing the follow-ups to "Ten" named "Vs' and "Vitalogy".
