Buying Rush tickets and going to see Rush in concert is a lifetime event for many fans of the rock group from Canada. The Canadian rock band
Rush have been one of the enduring bands of all time. The band came together in 1968 in Toronto, Ontario. The 3 current members have been
together since 1974 when Neil Peart joined the band. Along
with
U2, Rush is one of the more enduring bands of our generation.
The current band is composed of founding member guitarist Alex Lifeson, lead vocalist,
bassist, and keyboardist Geddy Lee, and Neil Peart rounds out the band playing the drums. Mr. Peart also writes a majority of the lyrics for
the group. Neil Peart replaced the founding drummer John Rutsey in mid-summer of 1974.
The original lead singer was Jeff Jones who left the band a couple weeks after forming and was replaced by Lee Geddy. Mr. Geddy happened to be
a classmate of Alex Lifeson. The band’s first record was published in 1974 and was simple called “RUSH”. The music of Rush encompasses a wide
spectrum of music from bluesy rock, hard rock, and progressive rock with the use of synthesizers. The band has been busy throughout the years
releasing 31 records. They had a brief lull when band member Neal Peart went on hiatus due to the death of his daughter (card accident) and his
wife who passed from cancer.
The band has performed many Rush concert tours over the years with the latest being the
Rush Time Machine Tour. This tour features the band playing
their album “Moving Pictures” in its entirety. This concept has been playing out well with different performers using this approach. Roger Waters
recently performed “The Wall” in its entirety. The Rush Tickets have been selling well for the tour.
